Welcome!  We are Scouts BSA Troop 709G

 We are sponsored by First Baptist Church ( 800 Thompson St. Ashland, VA. 23005) where we meet every Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Ellis Hall on the north entrance of the building. Depending on our program needs for the evening we may meet outside. We try to camp 10-11 times per year and to attend a BSA  Summer Camp each year. 

 Troop 709 is participating in Family Scouting

This new initiative opens the robust BSA Scouting program that young boys have benefited from for so long and now offers those same life changing benefits to girls. While they will meet in separate rooms on the same night in the same building, they will participate in the same program content, providing the opportunity for families with both boys and girls to participate in Scouting on the same night at the same location!  

(Family Scouting IS NOT Co-Ed, boys and girls meet separately)
